Yellow Creek State Park
At 2,981 acres, Yellow Creek State Park is the crown jewel of outdoor recreation in Indiana County. The park's centerpiece is a 720-acre lake popular for boating, fishing, and kayaking. The surrounding forest offers miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, and camping facilities.
The park is also a notable birding destination, with the lake and wetlands attracting a wide variety of waterfowl and migratory species throughout the year. It's about 20 minutes from Indiana borough, making it an easy day trip or a regular weekend escape.
